At the dawn of creation, before the earth had a name,
two deities stood on the Floating Bridge of Heaven and lowered a jewelled spear into the sea of chaos.
I. The Spear on the Floating Bridge
In the opening chapter of Japan's ancient chronicles, the world below heaven was a shapeless ocean of rolling wave crests, drifting sea foam, and shifting tide lines. Parting the eightfold clouds and golden morning haze, the creator deities Izanagi and Izanami stepped out onto the Floating Bridge of Heaven and gazed down into the dark waters.
Together they grasped the jewelled heavenly spear Ame-no-nuboko and plunged its blade deep into the brine, stirring the primeval sea until the currents thickened and swirled around the shaft. When at last they lifted the spear, a gleaming golden drop clung to its tip and fell back toward the deep.
II. The First Island Rises
Where that solitary drop of brine struck the water, the salt coagulated into the very first island of the world, Onogoro. On the reels, whenever a shimmering drop falls from the tip of the heavenly spear onto the central columns, a verdant island rises from the sea to bridge the ways on either side.
Any reel that holds an island looks only to its islands during evaluation, letting ordinary waves, foam, and mist step aside so the new land takes precedence. Each newly risen island acts as a sacred pillar in the swirling tide, linking distant symbols across the board in a single sweeping stroke.
III. Islands That Grow and Merge
When enough Onogoro islands appear across the sea on a single spin, the realm enters the sacred age of Kuniumi, the birth of the land. An initial island rises from the waves at the outset, and throughout the free spins every island remains on the board, expanding outward by one cell up, down, left, or right on each round.
Drops continue to fall from the spear, raising newer islands with ever higher multipliers in the order of their birth. Whenever two growing islands touch across the water, their shores merge into one larger landmass that keeps the higher multiplier, while ways passing separate islands multiply them all together.
IV. The Great Eight Islands
As island after island rises from the brine and spreads across the sea, the creation myth builds toward its crowning moment. The spin that gives birth to the eighth island heralds the Great Eight Islands: the eightfold clouds part from horizon to horizon, every island blazes with golden light, and that spin's entire harvest is multiplied.
Sharing its ancient mythological lineage with the tales of Amaterasu and Yamata no Orochi, this story of spear, drop, and rising land is the game's artistic theme rather than a promise: every spin's outcome is governed solely by the server's random number generator.
