How wins work

  • The grid starts at 6 × 6 with no paylines: every spin four paper familiars land on the grid (never on the same cell), each watching its own range.
  • When a familiar's range holds 3 or more ink sprites of its colour plus Seimei's fans (wild) — at least one of them a real sprite — it collects them all and pays by the count.
  • The crane collects its whole row, the butterfly its whole column, the frog the nine cells around it and the tiger both diagonals (each including its own cell), one after another in that order.
  • Collected cells empty, the symbols above fall and new ones drop in from the top, and the familiars collect again — until none of them can.

Paytable

Columns are the number of symbols one familiar collects at once (Seimei's fan counts as one); values are multiples of the total bet: win = total bet × table value × the board multiplier (above ×1 only in the Star Festival). All four ink sprites share this table; when the five-point star clears the board, the sprites pay colour by colour from the same table.

Special symbols

Seimei's fan

Wild. Counts for every familiar's colour to help it reach 3; each fan is collected only once (once an earlier familiar takes it, later ones cannot see it). A range needs at least one real ink sprite to collect.

Star charm

Does not pay, and is never collected or cleared. 3 or more on the stopped grid start the Star Festival.

Objects

Divination board, almanac, divining sticks and inkstone. They never pay and just take up space; the sweep when the barrier grows or the familiars awaken clears them all, and so does the five-point star.

Features

Four paper familiars — their ranges

The vermilion crane collects vermilion sprites in its whole row, the indigo butterfly indigo sprites in its whole column, the jade frog jade sprites in the nine cells around it, and the amber tiger amber sprites along both diagonals. Seimei's fan counts for every colour, but each fan is collected only once. The divination board, almanac, divining sticks and inkstone never pay — they just take up space.

Purify meter — the barrier grows

Every symbol collected (fans included) adds to the purify meter: at 8 the barrier opens and the grid grows to 7 × 7; at 16 it grows to 8 × 8. Each growth brings a sweep that clears every object off the grid and drops in new symbols. In the base game every spin starts again at 6 × 6.

Awakening — the five-point star

With the grid at full size and the meter at 28, all four familiars awaken and their ranges grow (crane plus the next row, butterfly plus the next column, frog plus the four cells two steps out, tiger plus the four cells beside it). Once awakened, a meter of 48 lets Seimei draw the five-point star in one stroke: every sprite, fan and object on the grid clears at once, the sprites paying colour by colour; the meter drops by 20, and filling it again draws another.

Star charms — Star Festival (free spins)

3 or more star charms anywhere on the stopped grid start the Star Festival with 10+ spins (3/4/5 charms → 10/12/15 spins); 3 or more during the feature add 5 spins. The festival opens with the barrier already open (7 × 7, meter 8), and the grid size, meter and awakening carry over from spin to spin; every five-point star raises the board multiplier: ×2 → ×3 → ×4 → ×6 → ×9 → ×13, then +4 each time. The Star Festival starts about once every 238.82 spins.

Volatility — positioning

Volatility 17.35. The hit rate of 40.23% counts any win; rounds that return at least the stake make up 17.11%. In the base game, the familiars' chain collections carry about 44% of the total RTP; the big swings come from the star multiplier climbing faster and faster in the Star Festival — capped at 12,000× the bet per round. This describes the product's positioning and does not guarantee the result of any session.

Bonus buy

Pay 125.10× the bet to start the Star Festival (10 spins, opening as a natural trigger), or 383.65× the bet for the full barrier — starting at 8 × 8 with all four familiars already awakened (meter 28). Each tier is priced from its own expected value (bonus-buy RTP 96.54% and 96.54%) and calibrated separately from regular play.

This product specification is written and maintained by its developer, Akitsora Gaming (AKI電子 in Taiwan). Measurement methods and sample information for RTP, volatility and hit rate appear in the specification table. Sampled results have uncertainty; RTP describes long-run return, not an individual player or session outcome.

Internal simulations and tests are not independent certification. We do not currently hold GLI or BMM certification reports. Supply to a market requiring third-party certification depends on completing its requirements.

The story

Fiction and adapted settings written by Akitsora Gaming for this title, including invented dialogue and events. This is not a historical or folklore reference. The rules and specification tables define the gameplay and math.

At the twilight hour, violet dusk spills over the eaves of Heian-kyō,
and drops of ink hop from the inkstone into round little sprites.

I. Runaway Ink at the Twilight Hour

As dusk settles over the old capital of Heian-kyō, the sky shifts from warm amber to deep violet — the twilight hour when small wonders stir. In the study of the court diviner, an uncovered inkstone begins to bubble, and round drops of ink hop onto the tatami mats, rolling into playful little ink sprites in vermilion, indigo, jade, and amber.

The little ink sprites mean no harm at all; they simply refuse to go back into the inkstone on their own. Scattered among them across the grid are the tools of the diviner's trade — the divination board, almanac, divining sticks, and inkstone — taking up space on the mats until a purification sweep clears them away. Only when the diviner's familiars gather enough sprites can the cluttered study floor be swept clean again.

II. Four Paper Familiars Taking Flight

Young Abe no Seimei only smiles and folds four sheets of dyed washi paper into four paper familiars: a vermilion crane, an indigo butterfly, a jade frog, and an amber tiger. With a gentle breath across his palm, he sends the four paper creatures floating onto the grid to round up the sprites matching their colours. Delicately creased from crisp sheets of paper, the four little guardians hover above the tatami in a soft glow.

Each paper familiar hunts in its own distinct pattern across the grid: the crane sweeps across its row, the butterfly glides down its column, the frog hops in a ring around itself, and the tiger pounces along the diagonals, aided by Seimei's fan wilds that count toward any familiar's colour. Watching the four familiars take turns sweeping across the board gives every cascade a lively sense of choreography.

III. The Expanding Barrier and Awakening

Every ink sprite and fan gathered by the four familiars adds to the purify meter beside the board. As the meter crosses each threshold, Seimei opens his spiritual barrier wider, expanding the grid step by step while triggering a sweep that banishes every non-paying object from the mats at once. Shimmering lines of spiritual light trace the wider borders of the room as fresh symbols tumble down to fill the new space.

Once the grid reaches its full expanse and the purify meter climbs higher still, all four paper familiars enter Awakening together: golden light rims their folded wings and paws, widening their collection ranges across the board so even distant sprites are gathered in. No corner of the expanded grid remains out of reach once the four awakened familiars spread their glowing wings.

IV. One Stroke of the Five-Point Star

When the awakened meter reaches the top, Seimei snaps open his cypress fan and draws a glowing five-point star across the board in a single stroke. In that instant, every ink sprite, fan, and object on the entire grid is purified at once, with every sprite paying out colour by colour. Brilliant blue-white light traces the five-pointed seal in the air as the mischievous ink returns peacefully to the page.

Landing enough star charms on the stopped grid begins the Star Festival under a sky full of constellations, where the expanded grid, meter, and awakening carry over between spins — and every five-point star Seimei draws raises the global multiplier for the rest of the night. Beneath the quiet canopy of the Heian night sky, each glowing star seal lifts the ritual to an even brighter crescendo.
